Float glass or annealed glass is a single sheet of glass made to a uniform thickness, often referred to as 'ordinary glass'. Float glass is brittle and can shatter on impact into sharp and dangerous fragments, for this reason it is not a safety glass.
Typically used for:
- Domestic glazing and double glazing.
- Small shelves and table tops.
- Low risk glazing (see diagram).
Float glass is available from Wholesale Glass, as stock, or processed, in various types and thicknesses including:
Clear, low iron, low-emissivity, satin, a wide range of tinted solar control, anti-sun grey / bronze / green / blue, self-cleaning, one-way 'spy glass' and various patterns.
3mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm and 19mm.
